Jeremy advises clients on, and prepares documents relating to, all aspects of trusts and estates, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advanced healthcare directives, probate and estate administrations, and guardianships.
He also advises individuals, banks, and trust companies regarding various trust-related matters, and uses his knowledge of Delaware’s flexible trust laws to modify existing irrevocable trusts through, among other means, consent modifications, situs changes, mergers, decantings, and nonjudicial settlements. He also represents clients in various business transaction and planning matters, including purchase and sale agreements, contract negotiations, entity formations, and drafting corporate and alternative entity agreements and organizational documents.
Jeremy has significant litigation experience, representing plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of matters in the Delaware Court of Chancery and other courts. He regularly represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in litigation involving trusts and estates, including will and trust contests and breach of trust and fiduciary duty actions. He also represents companies and individuals in breach of contract, corporate governance, and breach of fiduciary duty actions.
In representing his clients, Jeremy draws on his experience serving as a law clerk to the Honorable James T. Vaughn, Jr., then-President Judge of the Delaware Superior Court, following law school, and as a Wolcott Fellow to the Honorable Jack B. Jacobs of the Delaware Supreme Court during law school. He also served as an Articles Editor for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law during law school.
